About the Trumpet
The trumpet is the musical instrument with the highest register in the brass family. Trumpets are among the oldest musical instruments dating back to at least 1500 BC. The oldest trumpets were made of bronze, silver and metal and were generally used for military or religious purposes. Today they are made from brass and can often be heard in jazz or classical music. Famous trumpeters include Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong, who are both well-known jazz musicians.
