So that's a wrap - lessons are officially finished ! It's been great getting to spend time with students and seeing them develop guitar skills and musical education this year.
A few shout outs: Firstly to everyone who performed at our end of year concert in November. Awesome effort ! Special thanks to Carson for oustanding vocals at the concert, Caleb for playing the piano brilliantly for two songs and Jenna who busted some mean moves during “Radioactive”. It all added something special this year to the concert and that extra effort you guys put in is truly appreciated. I have a few photo's an links people have sent in that I plan to put up on my blog inth e coming weeks. Look out for those.
Though weekly lessons have finished the music continues at Awahou, Hiwinui, Ashhurst and Taonui schools this week as Musiqhub students are participating in their final assemblies and prizegiving.
Recently Whakarongo students Ben, Armani, Grace, Logan and Anita played at their prizegiving at the Regent, Poppy from Newbury played guitar and sang at the Newbury's got talent quest, and Keirah, Lilly and Jon played Bad Philospohy at the Ashhurst school talent quest. At the Stomach Recording Studio last week Jack worked with Thornton, Morgan and Carson to develop an original song idea he has been working on which is going to be awesome when completed. Exciting to see original music starting to feature with students as they develop ther skills. Well done all of you for pushing yourselves !
As you may be aware, from Term 1 2015 drum and vocal tution is being offerred in participating schools along with guitar and ukulele. We will have two great new tutors working with us ... drum tutor Johnny is ia skilled working musician & experienced tutor and (just as importantly) an awesome guy. We will be doing some school visits during Term 1 so students can get to meet the tutors and try out instrument for themselves.
Enrolments are open online now for the drums, vocals guitar and ukulele at this link. http://www.musiqhub.co.nz/teacher/255/Craig_Buttar
To parents, grandparents and caregivers thankyou so much for your support this year and for valuing music in the life of your chidlren. I hope many of them get the guitar or ukulele out over Christmas and get you all singing a carol or two ! (Ask them)
From our family to yours, have a wonderful Christmas and holiday break.

Hi Craig Jayden has really loved his lessons with you this year so we are wanting to re-enrol with you for next year, if you have a place for Jayden and for his older sister Mya that would be great.

Just a quick e-mail to say we would like Luke to continue with guitar lessons at Rongotea school next year. Also we would like to say that we thought the end of year concert was fantastic. Jason (Luke’s dad) was so inspired he has gone out and brought new strings for his guitar and intends to have a “play around again†(maybe he can practice with Luke!) Thanks again Tania

Hi Craig Elton and myself (along with our other two children) would like to thank you immensely for the fantastic guitar concert you held a couple of weekends ago. We are not a "musical" family and having Charlie being so interested in the guitar has meant we have had to become interested by default. We have supported his weekly lessons and enjoyed listening to him practise (especially on his electric guitar). We couldn't have enjoyed the concert more and my husband said he would have "gone again the next night". So there is some feedback from some "unmusical" folk who really appreciated the time effort and high quality of your show. Thank you so much.

Hi Craig I have attached a video of you & Jacob playing "I Walk the Line". We are so proud of Jacob, he did so well. To be on stage playing in front of an audience with just the two of you is not something he would have been able to do a year ago. Chris & I want to thank you for everything you have taught Jacob. He has come a long way with his guitar and really enjoys it. We know he will keep it up. Thanks again. Regards Nikki
